My Story

From the purview of my life experience, I can write with confidence that my journey from Bermudian roots to Concentus Wealth Advisors has been an interesting path with various stories along the way.

My curiosity about all things economics and finance began early in my collegiate career at Arcadia University, during the phase when theoretical work collided with practicum head on. The collision of academic coursework in “money & banking” and my financial analyst internship with Merrill Lynch was the pivotal moment in which I discovered my life pursuit to be a learned person in the financial planning and investment management industry.

After my stint with Merrill Lynch, I wanted to pursue a financial advisory career path in a firm with similar ideals, and I found my initial home with Kessler Wealth Management of Wachovia Securities (Wells Fargo). I cut my teeth, so to speak, by learning about the financial services world in its entirety from my mentor, Jerry Kessler. Of course, I had fun along the way with executing IPO issuances, implementing derivative trading strategies, building portfolio management services, etc.

Eventually, in late 2008, and I decided to part ways on amicable terms with Kessler Wealth Management. Following that, I had a most illuminating lunch meeting with the founder of Strid Wealth Management of Wachovia Securities, Gerald “Zeke” Strid. During this lunch at his favorite submarine sandwich shop, we waxed about the virtues of having integrity and putting the client first in all cases. So, based on these shared values and after meeting with Erik and Paul, I accepted the offer to join their team.
